Position: Quality Manager – Electronics

Job Summary:
We are looking for a results-driven and
experienced Quality Manager to lead the quality function in an EMS
environment, with a specific focus on PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly), box build, and cable assembly operations. The ideal candidate
will manage the Quality Management System (QMS), drive process and product
quality improvements, lead customer and regulatory compliance efforts, and
foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Establish, implement, and
maintain a robust QMS aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or
other relevant standards.
- Ensure compliance with IPC
standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, etc.).
- Prepare and lead internal,
customer, and third-party audits.
- Maintain accurate quality
documentation and ensure audit readiness.
Process Quality – PCBA, Box Build, Cable
Assembly
- Oversee in-process and final
quality checks across SMT, PTH, reflow, testing (ICT, FCT), box build
assembly, and cable harnessing.
- Implement and monitor
quality control plans at each production stage.
- Conduct root cause analysis
(RCA) for internal and customer quality issues and lead 8D/CAPA
activities.
- Ensure proper usage of tools
like FMEA, SPC, MSA, control plans, and process audits.
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Act as the primary interface
for customer quality concerns, audits, and quality improvement
initiatives.
- Manage RMA, NCR, and
customer complaint resolution processes with structured
problem-solving (8D, 5 Why, etc.).
- Evaluate and monitor
supplier quality; conduct supplier audits and drive corrective actions.
Quality Reporting & Metrics
- Track and report on key
quality performance indicators:
- First Pass Yield (FPY)
- DPMO / PPM
- RMA rate
- Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
- Supplier defect rate
- Present quality data and
analysis to management and customers as needed.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead and mentor a team of
quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
- Provide training on quality
tools, IPC standards, workmanship criteria, and customer-specific
requirements.
- Promote continuous
improvement culture across departments.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in
Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, or a related technical
field.
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in quality leadership roles in EMS/contract
manufacturing.
- Hands-on knowledge of PCBA,
cable harnessing, and box build quality control.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001.
- Experience with quality
standards like ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, or AS9100 is a plus.
Tools & Skills
- Skilled in problem-solving
tools: 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Fishbone, Pareto, etc.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma
methodologies (Green/Black Belt preferred).
- Excellent communication and
team leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office,
ERP/MES systems, and quality software tools.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, or related technical field
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in quality leadership roles in EMS/contract manufacturing
- Hands-on knowledge of PCBA, cable harnessing, and box build quality control
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620) and J-STD-001
- Experience implementing and maintaining QMS aligned to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
- Experience with IATF 16949 or AS9100
- Skilled in problem-solving tools: 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Fishbone, Pareto
- Use of statistical and process tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, control plans, process audits
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Green Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma certification
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP/MES systems, and quality software tools
- Excellent communication, team leadership, and training ability
- Experience preparing for and leading internal, customer, and third-party audits
