The Quality Engineer will serve as a well-rounded quality leader supporting product, process, customer, and quality system performance for JLG manufactured construction and agricultural equipment. This role acts as a conduit for the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and partners with cross-functional teams to identify quality risks, resolve issues, improve manufacturing processes, and drive sustainable quality and process improvements across the product lifecycle.

This position leads quality and process improvement projects, analyzes quality and warranty data, facilitates structured RCCA activities, supports APQP and launch readiness, performs internal audits, and develops standardized quality processes. The ideal candidate is hands-on, data-driven, and capable of balancing technical problem solving, project management, and continuous improvement.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Lead cross-functional quality and process improvement projects to reduce defects, improve customer satisfaction, strengthen process capability, and achieve Quality Plan goals.
  • Review customer issues, warranty claims, field concerns, and quality data to identify trends, risks, recurring failure modes, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate structured root cause and corrective action sessions using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, fishbone, Pareto analysis, and containment planning.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives using effective project management, stakeholder alignment, and verified closure.
  • Lead or support APQP activities, including quality planning, PFMEA, control plans, launch readiness, and validation of quality controls.
  • Analyze quality, warranty, process, and customer data to identify systemic issues and recommend sustainable improvements.
  • Develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions for customer, product, process, and supplier quality issues.
  • Create, update, and standardize quality processes, procedures, and work instructions while providing training to drive consistent execution.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and product documentation to evaluate quality impact and support implementation.
  • Coordinate and execute internal audits of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and compliance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Sales, and Customer Support to resolve issues, improve processes, and drive sustainable quality performance.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma/DMAIC methods to reduce waste, improve process performance, and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain quality records, audit results, RCCA documentation, APQP deliverables, and project files.
  • Travel as required to support customer, supplier, manufacturing, audit, or business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Business Management, Data Science, Engineering or related work experience.
  • Background Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality, Data Analytics, Customer Support, or heavy machinery.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading structured RCCA/8D problem-solving sessions with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading or supporting APQP activities, including process flow, PFMEA, control plans, launch readiness, PPAP, and quality planning.
  • Experience performing internal quality, process, or product audits.
  • Experience creating, updating, standardizing, and training teams on quality processes and procedures across multiple sites.
  • Strong experience with warranty analysis, defect trends, process performance analysis, and quality metrics.
  • Experience managing quality or process improvement projects from planning through implementation.
  • Demonstrated success identifying and implementing process improvements that improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel preferred) and quality/business systems such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Power BI, Tableau, Minitab, or similar tools.
  • Advanced training or experience with Lean Six Sigma/DMAIC, statistical methods, FMEA, control plans, 8D, 5-Why, and other structured continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, specifications, and product/process characteristics.
  • Experience supporting product launches, major process changes, or customer quality improvement initiatives in manufacturing or related industrial environments.

Pay Range:

$64,500.00 - $103,500.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
