About Standard Bots
At Standard Bots, we're revolutionizing real-world automation by making robotic systems accessible to everyone. Our AI-powered platform enables robots to tackle unprecedented challenges through an intuitive interface—bringing the power of software automation to physical spaces.
This role is on-site at our manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, NY. This is a first shift position (Monday-Friday, daytime hours).
Note: We are unable to sponsor Visas for this role.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to support and strengthen our hardware QA function as we scale robot production. You'll be embedded on the manufacturing floor, working closely with assembly, operations, and engineering teams to ensure every robot we ship meets our quality standards. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, sweats the details, and isn't afraid to get their hands on the hardware.
What You'll Do
Execute incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and final QC checks across mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies
Identify, document, and track defects and non-conformances through to resolution
Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes
Develop and maintain inspection plans, checklists, and work instructions
Collaborate with assembly technicians and manufacturing engineers to address quality issues in real time
Collect and analyze quality data to surface trends and drive continuous improvement
Support supplier quality efforts, including incoming material inspections and feedback to the supply chain team
Maintain accurate quality records and support audit readiness
What You'll Bring
2–5 years of experience in a quality or manufacturing engineering role, ideally in hardware, electronics, or robotics
Hands-on familiarity with inspection tools and techniques (calipers, CMM, torque verification, functional testing, etc.)
Experience with non-conformance tracking and CAPA workflows
Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (5S, 8D, DMAIC)
Strong attention to detail and a bias toward action
Comfortable working in a startup environment where processes are still being built
Bonus Points
Experience in robotics, automation, or electromechanical assembly
Exposure to IPC standards or ISO 9001 quality systems
Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) quality activities
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $125,000. We are open to a variety of seniority levels for this role and will build compensation packages that are commensurate with seniority and skill level. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options.
