Responsible for the development and implementation of the Quality Systems at Corporate, Manufacturing, and Supplier Sites. Maintain Corporate and Customer Satisfaction through quality improvements and corrective actions (both internal and external). Implement and or assist in continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure engineering and or industrial requirements are being met.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
•Maintain and upgrade Quality Manual, Operator Inspection Instructions, Quality Technician Procedures, Quality Plans, Product/Process Procedures relating to Quality requirements and related documentation/instructions.
•Maintain and upgrade databases relating to Quality Documentation.
•Maintain and upgrade standards for Inspection, Test and Evaluation methods.
•Assist in Continuous Improvement/Lean projects as required. Improving manufacturing floor layouts; cycle reduction plans.
•Facilitate long term solutions and prevention of recurrence of quality issues and customer complaints.
•Provide training to manufacturing plants in Quality Control/Quality Assurance principles and problem-solving methods.
•Assist in Quality Control audits for compliance and approving agencies standards.
•Provide technical support to Quality Control Technicians.
•Lead corrective actions between vendors and internal customer-base.
•Regularly complete Production Part Approval Process and First Article Inspections.
•Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.
Work Environment
Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as tensile strength, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to accurately interpret, follow and communicate technical drawings and directions.
Ability to effectively present information to all levels of management.
Skills to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
