About the Role

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer (Service) to join our Service & Repair (S&R) Department, driving improvements in customer satisfaction and reducing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). This role offers the opportunity to work with global teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to proactively enhance product quality and reliability. What you will Do

  • Act as a key liaison, providing prompt communication and escalation of quality issues to site quality leaders and global teams.

  • Analyze global quality data to identify trends and proactively drive corrective and preventive actions.

  • Lead Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) initiatives, utilizing quality tools to ensure true root cause identification and long-term solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on New Product Introduction (NPI) by implementing core quality processes such as FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, and Failure Analysis.

  • Review and approve Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for accuracy, ensuring customer impact assessments and compliance.

  • Enhance customer satisfaction by addressing complaints, product returns, and reliability concerns through structured CAPA processes.

  • Represent the quality function in supplier and customer business reviews, preparing and presenting quality data and taking ownership of action items.

  • Champion continuous improvement by rolling out best practices, lessons learned, and process enhancements across the organization.

  • Conduct hands-on reliability testing, troubleshooting, and Design of Experiments (DOE) to drive product improvements.

  • Travel to global manufacturing sites and customer locations to support quality initiatives and ensure alignment with customer expectations (5-20% travel required).

What you Need

  • 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing with a focus on quality engineering.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Experience with SMT, through-hole, and large electronic system assembly preferred.

  • Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, Pareto analysis, histograms, FMEA, CPK, IQ/OQ/PQ, and Gauge R&R.

  • Hands-on experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assembly, dielectrics, and PCB technologies.

  • Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Teams, PowerPoint) and analytical software.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.

  • Willingness to travel globally (5-20%).

  • Highly self-motivated with excellent communication skills to collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.

This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.

Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $105,000 - $113,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.
