About the Role

Matillion is built around small development teams with responsibility for specific themes and initiatives. Each team is a mix of engineers with various levels of skills and experience. As a Quality Engineer you will bring technical competence and the ability to integrate quality checks throughout our development cycle. The ambition is to deliver our services in the most efficient, controlled and high quality way possible. Outside of day to day delivery you will also support the overall quality journey within Engineering.

What you will be doing

• As a Quality Engineer at Matillion, you will spend significant time testing our software products, ensuring quality throughout the development process. 
• You will help maintain and improve existing quality frameworks while promoting a shift-left approach to testing. 
• You'll work with a variety of tools for automation, security, accessibility, and performance testing, while also honing your automation skills. 
• As part of a cross-functional team, you will drive the focus on quality, always keeping the customer’s needs in mind. 
• You will also contribute to identifying and improving areas in the overall quality journey.

What we are looking for

• Proficiency in various testing approaches (e.g., rapid, risk-based, exploratory, regression, security, usability, performance) with a strong understanding of the Test Pyramid and the role of test automation.
• Experience developing and maintaining effective test automation tools (e.g., contract, integration, accessibility, performance, security) for applications and services.
• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD processes, with experience in agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrum), and ensuring quality across business, customer, and technical levels.
• A QA mindset that challenges existing practices and drives continuous improvement in quality assurance.
• Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams, with a growth mindset focused on continuous learning and staying updated in the field of quality engineering.
