Quality Engineer

Price Industries is seeking a Quality Engineer in our Winder, GA plant who will drive product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement for VAV terminal units. This role works across engineering, manufacturing, operations, suppliers, and customer-facing teams to improve product performance, manufacturing quality, and field reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Own quality and reliability activities for VAV terminal product lines, including single-duct, dual-duct, fan-powered, electric heat, and hydronic configurations.

• Develop and maintain Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) documentation, inspection criteria, work instructions, and product audit requirements.

• Support new product development and engineering changes by identifying quality requirements, validation needs, and potential failure risks.

• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing defects, customer complaints, warranty issues, and field failures.

• Manage and improve end-of-line testing and verification of critical functions, including dampers, actuators, airflow sensors, controls wiring, heaters, fans, and unit configuration.

• Analyze quality trends, rework, scrap, audit findings, and recurring defects to prioritize continuous improvement activities.

• Support first article inspections, mock-ups, field investigations, and customer-specific quality requirements.

• Partner with suppliers on component quality, supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), and qualification activities.

• Support compliance and product validation activities related to applicable VAV performance and safety standards, including AHRI 880, ASHRAE 130, and relevant UL standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or a related field.

• 3–7 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, product, or engineering roles.

• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, product testing, audits, and continuous improvement.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VAV terminals, HVAC equipment, air distribution products, or engineered manufacturing.

• Knowledge of airflow measurement, acoustics, controls, electric heat, hydronic coils, and fan-powered terminal operation.

• Familiarity with FMEA, control plans, CAPA, 8D, SCAR, PPAP, Lean, Six Sigma, or statistical process control.

• ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Belt, or similar quality certification.
