Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Engineer to join our organisation in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this Contract position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products and services meet the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality assurance processes whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance strategies, processes, and procedures aligned with organisational objectives • Conduct thorough testing, inspection, and evaluation of products, systems, and processes to identify defects and non-conformances • Document quality issues, defects, and deviations in a systematic manner using defect tracking systems and quality management software
  • Perform root cause analysis on quality failures and recommend corrective and preventative actions • Analyse quality metrics, trends, and performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal quality requirements • Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, and operations teams to resolve quality issues and implement solutions
  • Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, records, and reports for audit and compliance purposes • Conduct quality audits and assessments to verify adherence to established standards and procedures • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of quality systems

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of 5to 10 years in quality assurance, quality control, or a related quality-focused role
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, testing techniques, and best practices
  • Proficiency with test management tools, defect tracking systems, and quality management software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all quality-related activities
  • Solid understanding of ISO standards and quality management principles
  • Experience with statistical analysis and process improvement techniques (desirable)
  • Familiarity with automation testing tools and frameworks (desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document findings clearly
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies (desirable)
