Job Description
The Quality Engineer ensures customer satisfaction through quality involvement, supporting the goals of Quality Engineering and the Oragadam Facility. You will provide training and leadership for Corrective Action Teams, maintains ISO 9001 Quality Systems, and acts as a liaison between Quality Engineering and other departments to resolve issues and improve.
You will report to QUALITY AND PROJECT TRANSFER MANAGER.
You will work in Onsite work mode based in our Chennai plant in Kancheepuram, India.
Your Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
Drive quality improvements continually to achieve manufacturing quality KPI targets.
Maintain Quality System processes and procedures to meet ISO 9001 and headquarters requirements.
Manage customer and third-party audits and follow corrective/preventive actions to closure.
Implement Stop Production/Hold Shipment orders from Business Group and initiate internal holds, following through to completion.
Customer & Manufacturing Support
Lead customer FAT panel reviews for ETO business and ensure timely issue resolution.
Prepare customer FAI files and secure approvals for on-time delivery.
Provide problem-solving (root cause failure analysis) and corrective action services to operations.
Analyze field return information for areas of quality improvement.
Take the role of MRB coordinator to manage manufacturing process defects.
Review and approve deviation authorizations.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Provide Quality Engineering technical evaluation with Design of Experiments and Process Capability studies.
Support Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP), Lean/Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives.
Take the role of quality continuous improvement.
Provide quality analysis activities and draft weekly/monthly reports for key issues.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Interface with engineering groups, customers, and suppliers on quality-related issues.
Coordinate internal resources to solve manufacturing process quality concerns.
As the interface with customers, gather requirements and transmit them to the plant.
Facilitate meetings for Assembly & Fabrication departments and create Top 5 reports.
The Essentials – You Will Have
B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
5–10 years of experience in Quality Engineering.
Strong command of English (oral and written).
ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 – Internal/Lead Auditor certification.
Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
The Preferred – You Might Also Have
Hands on experience in industrial/manufacturing setups.
Hands-on involvement in continuous improvement projects.
