As an Quality and Control Engineer, you will have a crucial role from the sales phase to the operational phase in the NEM projects.  Your role starts before the production begins by defining fabrication specifications and making inspection plans. External suppliers are closely scrutinized by QC before and during the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with order specifications, regulations, instructions, and procedures. You are responsible for specifying manufacturing requirements for parts, components, and equipment engineered by NEM and produced by third parties, so that NEM can guarantee and certify the quality of the final product.

 

In this role, we are looking for an engineer that is not only hands-on by doing the work, but also that is interested in how things are designed and put together.

 

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams, especially Supply and Subcontracting.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

•          Planning (pre-), inspection activities and meetings based on customer requirements to align and ensure implementation of the requirements into the manufacturing process.

•          Carrying out interim and final inspections, taking into account compliance with applicable standards and regulations

•          Maintaining contact with clients regarding inspection and code requirements.

•          Translating and implementing quality aspects of both the contract and design codes into technical specifications and reviewing the procedures of the subcontractors to meet those.

•          Reviewing welding documentation from subcontractors

•          Ensuring compliance with NEM quality requirements throughout the supply chain, both prior to and during manufacture

•          Drawing up test plans and specifications to ensure complainace with NEM quality requirements

•          Conducting final technical checks on manufacturing books compiled by the supplier.

 

 

 

Candidate requirements

•          Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with focus on manufacturing and welding technology or a completed technical qualification in a similar sector

•        Experiences in working with European standards EN 1090, EN 15614 and EN 15609, as well as the American AWS standards

•          Good abstraction level and strong affinity for practical mechanical engineering

•          Several years relevant professional experience in quality assurance or quality engineering within the steel or mechanical engineering sector

•          Capable of translating complex material into clear, practical guidelines

•          Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to act as a reliable peer in a project team

•          Ability to work independently and manage tight schedules

•          Excellent German and English skills (both written and spoken)

•          Willing to travel aborad regularly (20 %)

Skills Required
