In this exciting role as a Quality Engineer II in Medtronic’s Post Market Surveillance (PMS) and Trending within the Risk Management organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring product safety and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will contribute to the Post Market Surveillance report writing process to ensure compliance to regulations, investigate and disposition adverse trending signals, partner with cross-functional team across Quality and Reliability, Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, Product Development, Medical Safety, and Statisticians for data-driven decision making process.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Draft and edit high-quality Post Market Surveillance Plans in compliance with Global regulatory environment

  • Analyze post-market product data and trends, investigating adverse performance signals.

  • Apply statistical methods to evaluate product data and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate across functions to gather essential data, documentation, and insights for PMS reporting.

  • Present findings and technical data to internal teams and stakeholders.

  • Provide risk assessments and recommendations based on post-market product performance.

  • Support the preparation of regulatory responses and documentation as needed.

  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional meetings related to safety communications or quality initiatives.

  • Contribute to process improvements that drive efficiency and effectiveness across the surveillance lifecycle.

  • Review and approve documents authored by other teams to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Travel requirement: Less than 10%

Qualifications

Must Have (Minimum Requirements):

To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience

  • OR Advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualification):

  • Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical field is highly preferred

  • Experience in Quality Engineering, Risk Management or Post Market Surveillance.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to PMS (e.g., EU MDR, FDA)

  • Strong analytical skills with experience identifying and evaluating trends in product performance

  • Excellent scientific/technical writing skills

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$76,000.00 - $114,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
