- Responsible for supporting new program launches, supplier audits, and systemic supplier quality issues.
- Responsible for working with US based Development, Design and Quality staff, China based management, and local supplier engineers to ensure new product/process production initiatives, criteria, and standards are implemented at supplier facilities for effective and efficient new product transition to production. Perform process audits and monitor quality control plans to ensure acceptable quality levels are being satisfied. Assist Quality Manager in formulating, analyzing and implementing continuous improvement programs
- Monitors and improves supplier quality performance. Set up quality assurance plan (including gauges) for both head components and final finished products. Locally support all phases after 1st article and failure return/ defect found analysis
- Works with PDE for new product pilot run verification and handover to mass production. Investigates and resolves part or process quality issues as part of a hands on operations team.
- Leads supplier AQP and component review meetings/activities. Formulate and manage weekly quality summary and analysis
- Assess new and current production supplier quality systems: supplier audits. Audit processes to validate new supplier or new production line and routine audits at current supplier base. Drive audit action plans to closure
- Champions resolution of chronic supplier issues: identifies, prioritizes, charts occurrences/trends, implements and manages corrective action plans, reports on corrective actions/problem resolution. Develop and mentor suppliers in problem resolution, controls plans and PFMEA methodology
- Helps manage quality disputes between head/club and component suppliers
- Oversees process issues and customer complaints/returns. Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints. Ensure timely resolution
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field. Or a combination of education and manufacturing experience.
- 5+ years previous experience working in a manufacturing environment. Golf industry experience is a plus. Quality assurance/ control experience or related technical field
- Professional accreditation as a quality engineer by an appropriate authority or willingness to attain
- Working familiarity of Quality system (e.g. ISO9001). Working knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, and SPC Manuals. Black or Green Belt Six Sigma Certification a plus
- Familiarity with COBRA product line, the game of golf and the golf industry is preferred
- Able to work independently to investigate and analyze production issues
- Numerical analysis ability and exceptional knowledge of testing methods, QC principles and practices, manufacturing operations and processes
- 8D report experience is a plus
- Familiar with MS Office, particularly Excel, and other statistical software, math and analysis skills. DOE/FMEA/ Six Sigma skills required
- Ability to travel locally to other supplier facilities. Ability to create and maintain positive and productive relationships with both internal and vendor contacts with strong written and verbal communication skills
