Roles and Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with more senior engineers, plans, develops and implements techniques and programs to ensure that quality levels are maintained in accordance with the organization’s quality standards.
- Collaborates to establish specifications, controls and quality metrics, including participation in reviewing and/or creating PFMEA and Control Plans. Monitor, identify, fill-gaps as well as develop various controls to improve process and product quality.
- Monitor various data sources to identify, contain and lead resolution to process and product quality issues.
- Administer Material Alerts to track identified field and zero-mile issues.
- Coordinate activities to implement countermeasures and track effectiveness.
- Coordinates product testing and teardown with quality testing technicians and develop resulting summary reports to management, customers and/or other stakeholders.
- Research, plan, develop and implement continuous improvement (Kaizen) programs.
- Visits the customer to resolve quality concerns and sort questionable product to ensure quality standards are met.
- Investigates the root cause of quality defects at the customer and those that arise out of zero-mile or warranty claims.
- Initiates and updates quality documents including control verification, inspection standards, etc.
- Maintains and updates corrective action log and problem history.
- Verifies and monitors corrective and preventive action effectiveness.
- Ensures all work areas meet 5S standards.
- Follows all procedures and work instructions and make recommendations to improve the process. Notifies Leader immediately upon detecting any non-conformances.
Skills and Abilities:
- Develop effective communication and relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction with DENSO Quality.
- Effectively communicate with management, peers, customers, and other stakeholders on technical issues.
- Prepare reports and present to management.
- Lead intercompany activities to monitor and report on supplier quality metrics.
- Completes Corrective Action Reports (CAR’s) using appropriate quality methods. Ex: 5 Whys, 8D’s or CRR.
- Support various customers to resolve zero-mile and warranty issues.
- Perform internal and/or external process audits to quickly identify issues and develop countermeasures with various stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 0-3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing experience
- 6 Sigma Certification
