Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a QC Tester (Hourly) on a full-time, permanent basis, to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Calgary Plant. This position’s high-level responsibility is to provide real-time quality control monitoring on the production line. This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant produces premium roofing shingles in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment.
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting QA testing on the production line and in the lab and assuring that the finished product complies with company, industry, and government standards.
Responsibilities:
- Performs tests in the laboratory and on the production floor on key parameters associated with the quality assurance of finished products.
- Entering data in plant computer system/excel for daily quality testing results.
- Escalates production quality assurance issues to the quality team and plant management on a timely basis.
- Monitors the quality of finished products in real time on the production floor.
- Identifies quality issues in real time on the production floor and help production team to troubleshoot and drives resolution of production quality deficiencies and problems.
- Monitors quality impact of new production processes, methods, or equipment.
- Ensures that the lab equipment is calibrated and in good condition. Communicates material and spare requirements to Quality Supervisor in advance.
- Works with shipping and production team to ensure NCR products are sorted segregated, isolated and downgraded as per disposition from the quality team.
- Support production team with other assigned duties as needed when production lines are down as assigned by the production supervisor (cleaning, PMs, re-wraps, checking quarantine product, etc)
Education:
- Diploma/degree in a Science-related field is a requirement.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment, equipment, and tools, calibrating and troubleshooting instruments will be an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft word and MS Excel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to lift 50lbs.

- $31.25
