- Performs assigned tests on product where results are compared with company quality standards.
- Reports results to Production Manager, Supervisor or Lead Person, and notify Engineering when results are not up to quality standards.
- Oversee critical points in the manufacturing process to ensure consistent quality and adherence to production standards.
- Ensure all testing and procedures follow established safety guidelines, industry standards, and quality management systems.
- Inspects product visually for obvious defects.
- Performs in-process inspection and testing where required to determine quality of product during manufacturing process.
- Notifies Manufacturing Engineer or other Engineering personnel when inspection data are outside acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
- Records test results on inspection forms and reports any defects found.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical school degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Control Testing in a manufacturing environment required
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Must be able to read and follow written procedures and instructions.
- Must be able to record test data accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
- The ability to work well within a TEAM environment is required.
- Basic math skills required.
- Proficiency in using standard testing equipment and measurement tools, such as calipers and gauges.
- Ability to analyze data, interpret technical information, and identify the root causes of problems.
- A meticulous approach to inspection and data recording is crucial.
- The ability to manage time, organize tasks, and maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
- Dexterity and precision required to operate measuring tools and test equipment.
- Ability to pass a company physical and respirator fit test.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work long hours as required
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, heat and cold.
- May requires the use of the following personal protective equipment:
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Respirator (facial hair is limited to moustache; beards interfere with fit of respirator)
- Grounding wrist strap (for field sensitivity testing)
- Steel toe safety shoes
