Job Description
Follows standardized procedures and prepares samples for testing. Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. Relies on limited independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A limited degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Functional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operation and maintenance (including minor troubleshooting) of automated chemistry analyzers
- Data entry as well as assessment and interpretation of quality control results
- Testing production and research & development samples and assessing testing results
Team responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Focus on customer service
- Problem solving, including ability to reprioritize and adjust workload as needed
- Working with Production and R&D personnel to ensure efficient use of reagents and analyzers
- Able to evaluate processes for inefficiencies and suggest improvements
- Attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Associates in Medical Laboratory Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (preferred) or related science degree (i.e. biology, chemistry, biochemistry)
- 1-3 years working experience in a clinical chemistry lab or equivalent setting
- Organization and multitasking skills
- Experienced in use of various software programs
- Previous working experience with mainstream clinical analyzers from Roche, Siemens, OrthoClinical, Beckman Coulter, or Abbott desired.
