Summary:

The Quality Control Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring that orders are picked and packaged accurately prior to delivering to our customers. This role is also responsible for identifying potential issues and determining what to do to resolve the issue before it leaves our facility. The quality control specialist also keeps detailed records of order errors. These detailed records can help identify and eliminate recurring problems and also provide a paper trail to aid in accountability and error reporting.

Responsibilities: Duties

  • Assists with material handling in the warehouse as needed;
  • Efficiently pulls and prepares customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped;
  • Carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms, sometimes with material handling equipment, and stage them for review;
  • Stencil, tag, or mark orders as requested;
  • Performs these duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards;
  • When necessary, wrap orders;
  • Safely and efficiently unloads inbound shipments and moves product to bin locations, and efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas;
  • Reviews all outbound orders to ensure order accuracy and quality standards;
  • Safely and efficiently moves product from staging onto delivery vehicles or customer vehicles;
  • Combine and repack any orders that require such handling when needed;
  • Report quality variances and handle the sub-standard product as requested;
  • Ensure that the repack location is stocked with specified products, track inventory, replenish inventory, and keep the work area neat and organized;
  • Document the specific types of products used for repacking, the source locations, and the remaining damaged product;
  • Provide input for improvements to quality control program;
  • Actively promotes and personally observe safety and security procedures, including the proper use of equipment and materials;
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Skills: Technical Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must have good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office;
  • Proficiency in systems such as Solar Eclipse, Innovo, etc.
  • Ability to interact with coworkers, customers and vendors in a friendly and professional manner;
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and resourcefulness;
  • Ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Working knowledge of safety in the warehouse and demonstrates safe work practices;
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift in performance of order filling duties when required such as load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment as required;
  • Use RF machinery for picking, receiving, put-away, and load functions, as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel a computer mouse or other computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects; stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
  • May be required to move or traverse considerable distances in the facility during the course of a workday;
  • Must have the physical abilities to perform essential warehouse tasks;
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet and load product into trucks;
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time;
  • Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to pull or put away product from shelving and racking;
  • Understanding of required PPE conditions;
  • Ability to safely operate a dolly, pallet jack and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies.
