The Quality Control Specialist I is responsible for reviewing loan operations processes through Quality Control (QC) workflow queues to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This role identifies errors or process gaps, documents findings, supports reporting, and helps maintain up‑to‑date training and procedural documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to quality and service excellence.
What You’ll Do- Conduct quality control reviews across loan operations, including loan origination, underwriting, document processing, flood, and related activities
- Test and evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes by reviewing documentation, analyzing data, and performing sample checks
- Identify errors, deficiencies, or control weaknesses and document findings and recommendations
- Compile and assist with daily and weekly QC reporting
- Maintain documentation for QC processes, results, and procedural updates
- Address and follow processes related to credit reporting disputes and out‑of‑cycle updates to Credit Reporting Agencies
- Adhere to all corporate and Loan Operations policies and procedures
- Provide world‑class service to internal and external clients with professionalism and urgency
- Meet service level agreements (SLAs) and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or a related role
- Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to think critically and work with limited guidance
- Must be able to pass a criminal background & credit check
- This is a full-time, non-remote position
