Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all laboratory analytical data generated by QC lab to meet cGMP requirements, GDP practices and data integrity practices for raw materials, in-process samples and final products
- Ensure Production Department receives timely and valid Final Product Quality data
- Manages laboratory team members
- Work closely with the Production Engineer, Production Manager & KPC Research & Development on plant and corporate related quality initiatives, projects, and solutions.
- Gathers quality metrics regularly for use in plant production and trouble shooting
- Investigates and determines root cause of Out of Specification and failure investigations and communicates to upper management.
- Provide technical leadership and support to new commercialized manufactured products.
- Develops capital equipment and operational laboratory budgets
- Manages equipment service agreements.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or engineering; Advanced degree preferred
- At least three years of experience in an Inorganic &/or Analytical chemistry laboratory environment; Experience with ISO Management systems preferred
- Prior experience with ICP, HPLC, XRF and Particle Size Analysis/Characterization instrumentation
- Must be able to troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control regarding laboratory analyses
- Excellent planning, analytical and communications skills
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Organized and able to maintain good records
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
