Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all laboratory analytical data generated by QC lab to meet cGMP requirements, GDP practices and data integrity practices for raw materials, in-process samples and final products 
  • Ensure Production Department receives timely and valid Final Product Quality data 
  • Manages laboratory team members
  • Work closely with the Production Engineer, Production Manager & KPC Research & Development on plant and corporate related quality initiatives, projects, and solutions. 
  • Gathers quality metrics regularly for use in plant production and trouble shooting 
  • Investigates and determines root cause of Out of Specification and failure investigations and communicates to upper management. 
  • Provide technical leadership and support to new commercialized manufactured products. 
  • Develops capital equipment and operational laboratory budgets 
  • Manages equipment service agreements. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering; Advanced degree preferred
  • At least three years of experience in an Inorganic &/or Analytical chemistry laboratory environment; Experience with ISO Management systems preferred 
  • Prior experience with ICP, HPLC, XRF and Particle Size Analysis/Characterization instrumentation 
  • Must be able to troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation 
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control regarding laboratory analyses 
  • Excellent planning, analytical and communications skills
  • Self-starter and problem solver
  • Organized and able to maintain good records
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
