Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of laboratory technicians, managing schedules, providing upskilling training, and mentoring staff
- Conduct interviews, hiring, onboarding, new-hire training, and performance evaluations
- Inspect and test raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with Customer products specifications
- Ensure all laboratory testing is completed accurately and on schedule to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Document testing results and maintain accurate quality records; prepare reports for management
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement
- Conduct audits and reviews of quality control processes to update lab procedures and policies, ensuring adherence to internal and external regulations
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers (OR Supply Chain Team) to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards
- Improve standard work and resolve operational issues quickly within set parameters
- Ensure adherence to FDA, ISO 22716 cosmetic, and other relevant standards
- Oversee equipment calibration, method validation, maintenance of inspection and testing equipment for accuracy
- Support root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence
- Work closely with production, engineering, R&D, QA teams to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and improve processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of QC or analytical laboratory experience in a cGMP-regulated environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA, ISO, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Experience in cosmetic, OTC drug, pharmaceutical, or personal care manufacturing preferred.
- Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation (e.g., pH meter, Viscometer, FTIR) and method development/validation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office.
- Fully on-site position, 5 days a week (Monday through Friday).
- Ability to stand for extended periods while working in the laboratory.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when handling laboratory equipment or materials.
- Manual dexterity for operating laboratory instruments and handling samples.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses.

$75,000 – $85,000 annually
Skills Required

- Fully on-site availability, 5 days a week in Torrance CA
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, operate laboratory instruments, and wear PPE
