The Role

What you’ll do

The overall objective is to assess outcomes from activities and processes against conformance with applicable requirements to strengthen risk management quality, working with the relevant Banking business leaders to understand key risks, assess the effectiveness of the control environment and design and implement control enhancements.

  • Lead the assessment of activities and processes as per required Policies, Standards and Procedures to strengthen risk management quality
  • Build and manage relationships with functional and business partners at a regional level
  • Conduct routine testing of internal activities and processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and identify areas of risk or non-compliance
  • Regularly report on quality control outcomes and control effectiveness to top management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead from, inception through implementation, cross-functional or cross business issues designed to ensure business compliance with laws, regulations, and policy requirements across key/complex risk levels.

What we’ll need from you

  • 10+ years of experience in operational or compliance risk management, audit, or other control-related functions in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details.
  • Develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Investment and Corporate Banking businesses and their risk profile.
  • Expert understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
