SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for management of the Quality Management System (QMS) for the C-17 TS contract. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining an organizational structure that ensures effective technical and administrative execution of contract requirements to include AS9100 compliance. Manages, plans, coordinates, and heads the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production/service delivery consistent with established standards. Oversees the development and analysis of statistical data and specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy. Interfaces with the government customer helping to ensure all contract requirements are being met, fosters positive customer interaction and customer satisfaction.

  • Managing a Quality Assurance team, subcontractor requirements, AS9100D Compliance, and 3rd party audits.
  • Formulating and maintaining quality control objectives, coordinating objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality and reliability.
  • Managing workers engaged in audit activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, services, and products.
  • Developing and implementing methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records and progress reports, and providing status to management of activities.
  • Planning, promoting, and organizing training activities related to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manages the quality assurance plan to include scheduling of internal and external audits, maintenance of the tracking database, follow up on deficiencies, and reporting.
  • Investigating and resolving customer Corrective Action Requests regarding quality.
  • Root Cause Analysis techniques and procedures, facilitation of Corrective Action Plans.
  • Coordinates Quality Assurance activities across all program sites to ensure that adequate support is provided.
  • Monitors and assesses performance of subcontracted activities to ensure compliance with internal processes and contract requirements.
  • Keeps current with changes and modifications to external standards
  • Identifies and implements strategies for compliance.
  • Develop, motivate and train staff within the Quality Department in order to meet program and company objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Management, Information Management, or related discipline).
  • ASQ CQM/OE or CQE highly desired.
  • Creative, responsive and adaptive in a dynamic environment
  • Must have proven deployment of Continuous Process Improvement framework and associated tools, e.g. process mapping, cause/effect analysis, flowcharts, affinity diagrams, matrix diagrams, criteria rating analysis, and brainstorming
  • Strong project management skills a must
  • Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and propose new solutions
  • Ability to ensure contract and work statement requirements are consistently met
  • Excellent executive presence including oral and written communication and negotiation skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance as required.

SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Ability to work overtime

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Information Management, or related discipline
