Honeywell Aerospace’s Global Repair & Overhaul Engineering (GROE) team is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support our Avionics Repair & Overhaul (R&O) business within the Americas Service Center network. In this role, you’ll deliver engineering solutions that improve turnaround time (TAT), reduce cost, expand capability, and strengthen operational performance in a fast‑paced MRO environment.

Responsibilities
  • Apply broad electronics and electrical engineering knowledge to complete repair & overhaul engineering tasks.
  • Support daily R&O operations, providing troubleshooting, technical guidance, and engineering decisions to maintain efficient shop flow.
  • Work cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, quality, planning, design engineering, test engineering, and customer support to resolve issues and drive process improvements.
  • Identify repair cost‑reduction opportunities and lead projects from concept through full deployment.
  • Develop and implement new avionics repair processes to expand repair capability and support entry‑into‑service for new products.
  • Introduce new and existing technologies that improve repair shop performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with product design engineering, test engineering, and service center staff to resolve issues involving product modifications, upgrades, investigations, and test‑equipment repairs.
  • Standardize avionics repair and test procedures across multiple sites for consistency and productivity improvement.
  • Lead Corrective Action Request (CAR) teams and negotiate solutions to prevent defects from entering repair processes.
  • Communicate status with internal and external customers regarding repair delivery disruptions, NFF investigations, warranty concerns, and first‑year‑in‑service failures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair avionics bench test systems; implement engineering solutions to reduce test equipment downtime.
  • Use ERP systems such as SAP to manage work orders, validate BOM/routing data, analyze repair history, check part availability, and ensure accuracy of engineering changes.
  • Build business cases for capital investments using ROI, payback period, and NPV.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 2+ years of experience in the avionics or electronics industry.

  • Understanding of FAR 21 (OEM) and FAR 145 (repair) regulatory concepts.
  • Familiarity with DO‑178, DO‑254, and DO‑160 aerospace standards.
  • Knowledge of configuration management for products and test systems.
  • Ability to comply with import/export regulations (EAR, ITAR).
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems in engineering, repair, or supply‑chain workflows.
