Quality engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites to ensure efficient and effective testing coverage for software products. He or she identifies KPIs for product quality assessment, collaborates with key stakeholders to resolve quality issues in product lifecycle, conducts code reviews, and proposes solutions to mitigate quality-related issues.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and implementing a test strategy for quality coordination and test execution (both manual and automated), as well as suggesting solutions to identified quality problems.
  • Establish and maintain test governance and best practices for the organization
  • Develop and maintain test automation framework (based on global test framework), and establish an onboarding procedure to promote adoption of the framework across various projects
  • Set up process for continuous enhancements and release of the test automation framework
  • Provide training to IT BA and business users to prepare data input and execute automated tests
  • Provide direction to TCOE and vendor testing team, and act as the go-to person on test related matters
  • Investigate quality of systems-under-test in order to make improvements to achieve better test coverage
  • Implement and integrate appropriate tools strategy to ease test processes/operations and reporting needs.
  • Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement to improve time-to-market
  • Oversee continuous improvement initiatives, actively looking for opportunity to adopt latest trends that is relevant to the organization, such as low-code automation and GenAI
  • Collect quality data, and identify KPIs for quality assurance
  • Prepare and present reports and metrics to business stakeholders and senior leadership

What we are looking for

  • Ideally 4 – 6 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, including experience with a variety of different testing techniques such as UI Testing, Automated Testing, Test Driven Development Strategies, Behavioral Driven Development and other
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in key automation languages and tools, e.g. Selenium, Apium, UFT, Perfecto, JAVA, HTML5, XML, HP Performance Center, HP ALM, JIRA, or equivalent
  • Test automation experience in Agile
  • Experience working with regional development team
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Strong judgement required specifically during the quality control.
  • Requires consistent and equitable application of quality standards across all functional areas.
  • Will work closely with departmental team members and management. Must maintain high level of discretion regarding reviews performed and outcomes. Must be able to manage time and complete assigned tasks timely and within guidelines provided.
  • Ability to acquire system knowledge, in order to efficiently maneuver within various systems utilized by a particular project/initiatives
  • Life insurance knowledge preferred.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work under minimum supervision
