We're hiring a QA Engineer to own the quality, reliability, and test automation of a platform that processes real insurance claims and moves real money between institutions. This is a founding QA hire — you won't be running someone else's test suites. You'll be building the company's entire QA strategy, test frameworks, automation pipelines, and quality gates from the ground up.
Requirements
What You'll Own:
- End-to-end QA strategy and test framework design for a .NET Core / Angular / Azure platform
- Test automation using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress for UI testing across Angular components
- API test automation using Postman, RestSharp, or similar tools for .NET Core Web API endpoints
- Integration testing for microservices communicating via Kafka/RabbitMQ message brokers
- Database validation and testing against MongoDB and SQL Server
- Performance and load testing using JMeter, k6, or Azure Load Testing
- CI/CD integration — embedding automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines with quality gates
- Security testing awareness — OWASP top 10, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing coordination
- Test environment management — working with DevOps to maintain dev, staging, UAT, and production parity
- Regression suite maintenance and optimization to keep pace with rapid feature development
- Bug tracking, defect triage, and release readiness reporting
- UAT coordination with business stakeholders and insurance domain experts
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years in QA Engineering or Software Testing with strong automation experience
- Hands-on test automation with at least one major framework: Selenium (C#/Java), Playwright, Cypress, or SpecFlow
- API testing experience — Postman, RestSharp, or equivalent for RESTful API validation
- Experience testing .NET Core / ASP.NET applications — understanding of C# is a strong plus
- Experience testing Angular or modern SPA frontends
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools for pipeline-integrated testing
- Database testing — writing SQL queries for MongoDB and/or SQL Server validation
- Understanding of microservices architecture and message broker testing (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum — sprint-level test planning, story-level acceptance criteria
- Experience with Git version control and branching strategies
- Clear, structured bug reporting and defect management (Jira or Azure Boards)
Strong Pluses
- Experience in regulated industries — InsurTech, FinTech, banking, payments, or government platforms
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
- Experience with BDD frameworks — SpecFlow, Cucumber, or Gherkin-based test authoring
- Performance testing tools — JMeter, k6, Gatling, or Azure Load Testing
- Security testing awareness — OWASP, ZAP, Burp Suite
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes-based test environments
- Insurance domain knowledge — claims processing, settlement workflows, policy management
- Azure certifications (AZ-900, AZ-400)
- Experience building QA processes from scratch in a startup or greenfield environment
Automation, regression, playwright
