Quality Assurance Engineer (18 or 12 months maximum contract role)

In this role, your work directly protects customers and the integrity of financial markets. Every test you design and every defect you uncover helps ensure traders can act with confidence. You’ll see the impact of your work quickly and clearly.

You’ll work on complex, high-volume systems where quality genuinely matters. This is not checkbox testing. You’ll be involved early, influencing outcomes and partnering closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performing software.

You’ll also sharpen your skills in a modern environment. From API and backend testing through to cloud-based systems, you’ll continue to grow your technical capability while staying hands-on in meaningful work.

What you’ll be working on

• Planning and designing test approaches, data, and environments

• Creating and executing test plans and scripts with strong functional coverage

• Managing test data and validating outcomes against expectations

• Logging, analysing, and tracking defects through to resolution

• Partnering with developers to investigate issues and improve quality

• Producing clear test status and completion reports

• Coordinating testing schedules to maximise efficiency

• Performing usability and non-functional testing, including performance, reliability, scalability, and security

• Supporting internal quality standards and continuous improvement

• Applicants must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency to be considered for this role.

What will help you be successful?

You take pride in finding issues before customers do. You’re analytical, thorough, and comfortable owning problems through to resolution. You work well under pressure and adapt easily as priorities change.

You’ll bring:

• 5+ years’ experience as a QA or Test Engineer on medium to large IT projects

• Strong manual testing experience, ideally within financial services

• Experience with Jira, Git, and API testing

• Testing experience across backend services and web-based UIs

• Confidence working in Agile, fast-release environments

• Strong SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting

• Experience with test automation, ISTQB certification, AWS, or trading platforms will be highly regarded.
