Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing the required testing of asphalt roofing shingles and raw materials
- Collecting and compiling of samples at different stages in the production process to prepare physical analysis and reports
- Preparing basic laboratory reports by recording the necessary data on charts, graphs and forms to be used by the Quality Assurance Engineer, Engineering Department and Superintendents
- Following and adhering to Laboratory Quality Control SOPs
- Maintaining good record keeping practices and strict adherence to quality and safety programs
- Gathering relevant data as requested by the Quality Assurance Engineer and Senior Manufacturing team to ensure quality standards are met
- Other projects and assignments related to research and quality assurance may be assigned
- Work with production and engineering on special projects as directed
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must possess a willingness to learn and the ability to follow instructions and take direction
- Experience in heavy manufacturing environment, strongly preferred, but not required
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment
- Possess solid problem solving and action planning skills
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills
- Possess the ability to make independent and sound decisions
- Possess solid interpersonal skills
