The QA Compliance Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight for Quality Management System (QMS) compliance activities, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IEC 80079 requirements, corporate standards, and applicable regulatory obligations. This position supports the effectiveness of document control, auditing, certifications, approvals, competence management, and risk governance processes by partnering with designated compliance resources and cross-functional teams. Monitor quality system performance, promote continuous improvement, and help ensure the organization maintains audit readiness and compliance with customer, regulatory, and corporate requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for Quality Management System (QMS) compliance activities.
  • Maintain oversight of VEGA Americas' ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems, ensuring ongoing compliance, effectiveness, audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
  • Support regulatory conformity, product approvals, and hazardous location certification activities while coordinating with VEGA subject matter experts in IECEx, ATEX, and IEC 80079 requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality policies, procedures, and management system processes.
  • Provide oversight and support for the document control process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of controlled documentation.
  • Support and coordinate internal, external, customer, and certification audits in partnership with designated audit personnel.
  • Monitor audit findings, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives to ensure effective and timely closure.
  • Provide oversight of product certifications, approvals, and regulatory compliance activities in partnership with designated subject matter experts.
  • Support compliance efforts related to hazardous locations (HazLoc), explosive atmosphere requirements, and other applicable product certifications.
  • Monitor changes to quality, regulatory, and certification requirements and assess organizational impact.
  • Facilitate management review activities and support quality system performance reporting.
  • Lead risk-based thinking initiatives and support organizational risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Support competence management processes, including quality-related training, awareness, and qualification requirements.
  • Monitor compliance metrics and identify opportunities to improve process effectiveness and system performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Product Management teams to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and third-party inquiries related to quality system compliance and certifications.
  • Serve as a resource for quality system interpretation, compliance guidance, and best practices.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, Compliance, or a related quality discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality system governance principles.
  • Experience supporting internal, external, customer, and certification audits as well as quality management system compliance activities.
  • Experience working with regulatory, certification, approval, or conformity assessment requirements preferred.
  • Experience supporting risk management, document control, or training/competence management systems preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams and/or working within an international manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to interpret quality standards, regulations, certification requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Working knowledge of auditing principles, corrective action processes, and risk-based thinking methodologies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required, including occasional international travel.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • At least five years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, Compliance, or a related quality discipline.
  • At least three years of experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
