Job Description

The Quality Analyst is responsible to perform quality checks on received goods and produced goods to enable the delivery of products that meet the required specifications.

Provides input to warehouse team which received goods are to be released for production and which are to be returned to supplier.

Provides input to warehouse team which produced goods are to be released for customer shipment and which are to be blocked for rework / scrap.

Provides guidelines to production team on how to rework product that does not meet the required specifications.

Safety

  • Delivers a Safety Health and Environment culture and role model behaviours by following safety procedures, using Personal Protective Equipment – PPE and works calm and orderly
  • Delivers a Safe and Healthy work environment by knowing the work-related hazards and safety instructions
  • Leads incident investigations and confronts unsafe conditions and behaviours immediately. Solves safety issues directly or through escalation
  • Participate in Risk Assessment process as required
  • Cooperates with team to keep work place safe, clean and well ordered. Helps colleagues to work safely
  • Escalates and implements solutions to impact risks in ergonomics and working conditions
  • Reports any unsafe situation, substandard, near miss, incident or defect
  • Does not endanger himself or any other person under any circumstance: “we work safely, or we do not work”
  • Stops work when safety is at risk or when in doubt how to proceed safely and involves Quality Manager
  • Active participation in Safety discussion during Operations Performance meetings Structure – OPS meetings
  • Respects the environmental rules of the site with regards to the use and removal of chemicals (oils, fats, etc.) used for maintenance

Quality: 

  • Contributes to maintain, deploy and upgrade the Quality Management System (QMS) to manage product Quality in accordance with company quality guidelines
  • Contributes to Food Safety of all products by implementing the relevant company Quality and legal requirements (e.g. Hazard Analytic Critical Control Points (HACCP), Hygiene and Sanitation, Local Food Regulatory requirements, Quality Management Systems – QMS, Traceability requirements)
  • Contributes to plant vendor Quality management process including notification of Quality defects and tracking of associated costs (materials and resource). Lead and contribute to plant vendor Quality review meetings at plant and vendor sites to drive improvement according to central Supply Chain Quality requirements, following escalation process with Procurement
  • Perform all relevant Quality tests (chemical, physical, microbiological, sensory) of established and new raw materials, packaging materials, processes, semi-finished and finished products in accordance with Quality Guidelines, ISO Standards, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points - HACCP system, relevant legal requirements and internal documents (e.g. recipes, specifications)
  • Contributes to solve customer complaints on Quality by analyzing root cause.
  • Contributes to continuous verification of the compliance and effectiveness of systems (internal audit and review of process capability)
  • Deploys measurement systems and processes to improve performance (including calibration, Measurement System Analysis - MSA and participation in global internal benchmarking and Statistical Process Control - SPC)

Leadership: 

  • Contributes to team engagement plan implementation
  • Onboarding of new associates in the team
  • Support Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) activities to deliver Food Safety/Quality Culture

 Delivery & Cost: 

  • Ensures that product released for (customer) shipment meets required specifications.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of product quality and product quality variance. 
  • Updates relevant information, tracking and reporting systems 


Qualifications

Education

  • University Degree (Bachelors) or higher in Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry

Experience

  • 5 years experience in Manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of quality and food safety standards and practices (ISO/ FSSC 22000, IFS, HACCP, GMP)
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Knowledge in statistical applications Ability to problem solve with high accuracy and decision quality
  • Languages: Local - Fluent; English - Intermediate
