We are currently seeking a remote Cloud DevSecOps Quality Analyst and Engineer with minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for a full-time position to assume a pivotal role in supporting our federal government client. This role is intended for a United States (U.S.) citizen with extensive expertise in ensuring the highest quality of software products through rigorous testing and quality assurance practices. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transforming our clients' infrastructure to be more efficient, secure, and aligned with business objectives. This position places significant emphasis on everything-as-code and implementing quality engineering best practices and maintaining high standards of software quality.
As a client-facing professional, your responsibilities will include collaborating with key stakeholders and leading quality assurance projects that align with client objectives and regulations. Your insights will play a crucial role in deploying and operationalizing capabilities for clients.
To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, meet public trust clearance requirements, and possess a proven track record of successful Agile project collaboration.
Key Requirement:
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Public Trust U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as this work is for a federal government client. Candidates will need to successfully complete a Background Investigation (BI) and credit check prior to beginning work. Nothing in applicants’ history should prevent them from obtaining a public trust security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is someone who was born in the US or obtained citizenship through naturalization that the government will verify. The government has excluded non-citizen nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), refugees, or those on temporary visas.
- MUST RESIDE in the U.S. and work MUST BE PERFORMED in the U.S.
Core Responsibilities:
- CI/CD Pipeline: Utilize and evolve secure, automated CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based environments, ensuring integration of security checks and compliance measures.
- Automation Testing: Develop and implement automated tests for quality, security, and compliance to ensure all code meets the highest standards before deployment. Ensure continuous testing is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Security and Compliance Testing: Conduct thorough security assessments, automated testing, and compliance checks to ensure infrastructure and applications meet or exceed federal and industry standards.
- Information and Privacy: Understand and manage information flow and ingestion processes, ensuring information integrity and accuracy while integrating privacy requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Define and enforce quality standards across the SDLC, including code reviews, static analysis, and performance testing. Implement best practices for automated testing and continuous integration.
- Technical Solutions: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and address data anomalies.
- Agile and Cross Team Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile delivery teams, contributing to deliverables and fostering continuous improvement in Business and DevSecOps practices. Ensure success for the client by engaging in cross team support.
- Production Support: Provide operations support, oversee pipelines and build processes, and support production applications in cloud environments, emphasizing automation in operational tasks.
- Integration and Data Flow Management: Understand and manage integration points and data flow and ingestion processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Automation Testing Tools: Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools such as Sonarqube, Cucumber, Jasmine, Selenium, Cypress, or similar, for ensuring code quality and security. Ability to develop, execute, and optimize automated test scripts.
- CI/CD Proficiency: Strong understanding of automating CI/CD pipelines, with a specific focus on embedding security and quality using tools such as OWASP, Jenkins and GitLab.
- Programming and Scripting Skills: Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly in Java, Ruby, Python, Java Script, HTML, XML and scripting languages, aimed at automating tasks and boosting operational efficiency.
- Quality Assurance Practices: In-depth understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, Artillery.io or LoadRunner and chaos engineering. Skilled in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive criteria.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of major compliance standards such as FISMA, NIST SP800-53, etc., for enhancing the privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance posture of solutions.
- Innovative Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: A forward-thinking approach, constantly seeking process improvements and contributing unique solutions to complex challenges. Ability to handle high-pressure situations, and expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
- Dynamic Project Management: Exceptional ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, applying innovative approaches to achieve desired outcomes.
- Agile Team Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with an understanding of agile software engineering principles and best practices, fostering effective collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Preferred: Government sector experience, especially with DHS, and current public trust clearance.
