The Role
Hands-on junior manager responsible for keeping kitchen, counter, packaging, cash, stock, and team performance running to standard during shifts. The role coaches employees, resolves operational issues, assists with opening and closing, and occasionally runs the full branch when senior managers are absent. Weekend, evening, and public-holiday availability is required, with a path toward Assistant Manager.
Summary Generated by Built In
This isn't a desk job. You're on your feet for the shift, watching the kitchen, the counter and packaging all at once, and stepping in the moment something needs fixing. It's your first real step into management, with a clear path to Assistant Manager.
What the job actually looks like
- Walk the floor and keep kitchen, counter and packaging running to standard.
- Spot problems like a slow station, a stock gap, or someone who needs direction, before they become complaints.
- Coach team members on the floor, in the moment, not after the shift.
- Assist with cash, transactions, stock checks, and opening or closing under the Branch or Assistant Manager.
- Step up to run the full branch, i.e. cash, team, standards, etc., on the rare shift both senior managers are out.
- Feed back to your Branch Manager on what's working on the floor and what isn't.
What we need from you
- High school certificate.
- At least 6 months' experience in a QSR controller position.
- You notice when things are off and do something about it without being asked.
- Comfortable directing team members on the floor, across multiple stations in a shift.
- Available for weekends, evenings and public holidays.
- Reliable way to get to your store.
- Excellent time-keeping and attendance.
- Advantage: familiarity with cash handling, till operation, cash-up or daily banking.
What you get
- Your first real step into management, with a clear path to Assistant Manager.
- Hands-on training across every part of how the branch operates.
- A Branch Manager who shows you cash, stock and scheduling so you're ready for the next level.
- The experience of running a branch, even if only occasionally.
