Position is for second shift support
The Quality Control Associate Scientist performs accurate and timely testing of routine lab samples in accordance with appropriate GMP and safety guidelines. The Scientist will also perform equipment qualifications and quality system improvement initiatives by executing well-defined protocols and procedures
RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs analysis on materials in support of cGMP activities. Performs responsibilities in compliance with Evonik quality systems. Maintains permanent records on all analyses performed and communicates results to appropriate Evonik-Birmingham Laboratories personnel. Reviews work and data of other analysts to ensure compliance with method requirements and regulatory requirements.

Adheres to all company safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and directives. Conducts all laboratory activities in a safe manner by use of MSDS to establish chemical hazards, observes the appropriate laboratory procedures and reports all incidents that could threaten the safety of laboratory personnel.

May act as a mentor for other quality control scientists and technicians responsible for the analysis of materials under cGMPs for timely completion of requested analyses. Teaches relevant techniques to other scientists and technicians.

Uses laboratory instrumentation including HPLC, GC, FTIR, KF, TOC, and Particle size analyzer.

Documents laboratory procedures and procedure improvements.

Performs other duties as may be required by supervisor.

Assists in executing validation protocols to comply with current industry practices and regulatory requirements.

Able to present data to internal and external customers thoroughly and accurately.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or other relevant science.

0– 3 years’ experience in a quality control laboratory environment.

Knowledge and understanding of cGMPs.

Good technical skills/knowledge.

Good problem solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel and equipment specific software.

Good organizational skills
