10x Genomics is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Control team. This role will bridge the gap between traditional laboratory quality control and modern data automation. As a QC Associate, you will be responsible for testing and inspection, as well as supporting automation of data workflows and analysis. If you have strong laboratory fundamentals and practical background in python or other scripting experience, you would be a great fit for the team.
Key Responsibilities- Laboratory Execution: Follow ISO standard to conduct QC testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using metrology check, PCR, NGS, and HPLC.
- Process Automation: Use Python and AI tools (Claude) to help write and maintain scripts that streamline QC inspections, data collection, and analysis.
- Quality Assurance: Initiate and follow up on nonconformance, support new product launches and investigations.
- Data Management Work with the team to identify metrics, and help build and maintain real-time data visualizations using Streamlit and Retool.
- Major/Education: B.S. or M.S. in Biological Engineering, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related Life Science discipline.
- Laboratory Experience: 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or QC environment (NGS or PCR experience preferred).
- Python: Essential for building Streamlit apps, managing Claude/AI API integrations.
- Experience with Git/GitHub for version control of scripts.
- SQL: Useful for manipulating and extracting data in Snowflake
- Snowflake: Knowledge and experience with cloud data warehousing and data architecture.
- Experience building dashboards for data automation/monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of Statistics for quality control.
- Prompt Engineering: Capability to use Claude for complex reasoning and workflow automation.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting utilizing production control tools like ERP or LIMS.
