The Role
▪️ Design and maintain an automated end‑to‑end test suite using Playwright, Selenium, or similar
▪️ Stand up reliable CI workflows (GitHub Actions, CircleCI) that run tests on every pull request
▪️ Build synthetic scripts that click every button, fill every form, and validate every API call
▪️ Create load and performance tests to keep response times under target thresholds
▪️ Write concise bug reports with steps, logs, and video repros that engineers can act on fast
▪️ Partner with product and engineering to define acceptance criteria before code is written
▪️ Maintain clear test coverage dashboards and quality KPIs for stakeholders
▪️ Continually refactor flaky tests, improve parallelization, and cut test run time
Outcomes
Outcome 1: Automated Coverage
▪️ Achieve and sustain 90% critical path coverage within 60 days
Outcome 2: Fast Feedback
▪️ Keep full test run time under 10 minutes so engineers get immediate feedback
Outcome 3: Zero Regrets Releases
▪️ Ship weekly without high‑severity production bugs for two consecutive quarters
You Should Apply If You…
▪️ Have 2+ years writing automated UI and API tests in JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript
▪️ Know your way around Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium and can justify tool choice
▪️ Understand CI/CD basics and can tweak YAML pipelines in your sleep
▪️ Treat flaky tests as personal enemies and have a playbook to kill them
▪️ Communicate crisply with both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders
▪️ Love documenting edge cases and thinking like a mischievous user
▪️ Prefer automation over manual repetition but can run exploratory tests when needed
