About This Job
This position is onsite and will be located at our HQ in San Diego, CA. Remote or Hybrid is not available for this role.
Axos is seeking a QA Software Manager who will be a strategic leader to drive transformative changes within the Consumer Banking Development Quality Assurance team. The QA Software Manager is responsible for developing and executing the QA strategy, leadership of the QA organization in implementing and leading the automation and manual frameworks for integration, functional, regression, sanity and performance tests, guarantee the highest quality standards of all software releases, and ensure adherence to internal management SDLC processes.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Roadmap
Define the QA strategy to expand the use of automation and manual testing frameworks, security/ vulnerability testing, code coverage measures and improvements. Develop an executable roadmap with milestone deliverables.
- Establish Quality Standards:
Define and implement quality standards and procedures across the organization, aligning with industry regulations and customer expectations.
- Team Leadership:
Manage and develop a QA management team, providing technical guidance, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Test Planning and Execution:
Design and execute comprehensive testing strategies to assess product quality, including functional, performance, usability, and regression testing.
- Defect Management:
Identify, track, and prioritize defects, ensuring timely resolution and communication with development teams.
- Data Analysis:
Analyze quality metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and proactively address potential quality, process or staffing issues.
- Auditing and Compliance:
Conduct regular quality audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards, including regulatory requirements.
- Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present detailed quality reports to senior leadership and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and improvement recommendations.
- Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes and methodologies, promoting continuous improvement within the QA team.
- Customer Focus:
Collaborate with business units and product development teams to understand customer feedback and incorporate quality improvements based on user experience. Work with multiple stakeholders to understand the overall end-user requirements and ensure the creation of comprehensive test cases.
Requirements:
- Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies (functional, performance, regression), automation tools, integration of automation test suites within automated pipelines, and code coverage platforms. Preferred experience with Testing Automation or similar for web and mobile applications, APIs, and test data creation, and Sealights, SonarQube or similar for code coverage analysis.

Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to inform quality improvements.
- Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions.
- Communication Skills:
Clear and concise communication to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
