Xtreme Aviation is looking for a Safety Coordinator to support the Manager of Safety and help coordinate the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and Emergency Response Plan. This position plays an important role in promoting a safe workplace, monitoring safety performance, and helping ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis
• Monitor the effectiveness of safety risk controls
• Ensure safety is promoted throughout the organization as required by the SMS program
• Regularly report to the SMS Manager and Accountable Executive on the performance of the SMS program
• Coordinate the development and implementation of company safety programs
• Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, organizational standards, safety requirements, and company policies
• Investigate and report incidents and accidents to determine root causes and corrective actions
• Coordinate the development and implementation of Company Safety Programs
• Responsible for the development and revision of training programs and materials related to safety, security, and emergency response
• Process and serve as a gatekeeper for all safety reports
• Maintain a safety reporting and analysis system
• Inspect, audit, and measure safety performance
• Ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated in a timely manner and corrective actions are implemented as needed
• Ensure safety audits and inspections are conducted as specified by the safety program
• Evaluate employee feedback regarding hazard identification, safety improvements, and appropriate recommendations
• Routinely make observations of work areas to identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions
• Report to management on company activities that may have an impact on safety
• Coordinate with the Facilities Manager on Emergency Response Exercises
• Represent the company with government agencies and professional associations regarding safety and environmental matters
• Coordinate all safety training and ensure applicable employees are properly trained
• Ensure the development and implementation of appropriate occupational safety programs to prevent or control unsafe environmental working conditions and reduce the frequency of work-related accidents and injuries
• Monitor industry safety concerns that may have an impact on Xtreme Aviation activities
• Perform safety audits and safety performance evaluations
• Promote SMS bulletins, communications, and other safety awareness materials
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Safety

WHAT YOU NEED

• Knowledge of safety programs, procedures, and practices
• Ability to identify hazards and evaluate safety risks
• Ability to monitor and report on safety performance
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and investigations
• Ability to develop and maintain safety training materials and programs
• Ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external agencies
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling safety-related information

EXPERIENCE WE VALUE

• Experience in aviation safety or a related safety environment
• Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS)
• Experience conducting safety inspections and audits
• Experience investigating workplace incidents and accidents
• Experience with hazard identification and safety risk analysis
• Experience developing safety training programs and materials
• Knowledge of occupational safety requirements
• Experience coordinating emergency response exercises
• Experience working with government agencies or professional safety organizations
