Role Overview
We’re looking for a QA Manager – Automation to spearhead the automation strategy across multiple SaaS products and lead a high-calibre team of manual and automation engineers. You’ll own the complete QA cycle—from test-strategy design to production sign-off—building scalable, reliable, and reusable automation frameworks that keep our customers shipping flawlessly at global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Leadership:
- Define and drive the end-to-end automation roadmap (UI, API, DB, performance).
- Select, extend, and standardise automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Testim, Cypress, Postman, Rest Assured, JMeter)
- Ensure 80–90 % critical-path coverage through continuous test-suite evolution.
Technical Ownership:
- Own QA deliverables for multiple cloud products in the e-commerce & logistics domain.
- Review and approve test strategies, test plans, and code reviews for automated suites.
- Balance manual v. automated effort; champion “automation-first” thinking.
Process & Quality Governance:
- Champion Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and shift-left testing practices.
- Track quality KPIs—test-coverage, defect leakage, MTTR—and drive data-backed improvements.
- Enforce STLC discipline in Jira, Confluence, and Xray / Zephyr.
People Management:
- Lead, mentor, and performance-manage a 10-15-member QA team (5 + yrs managerial experience).
- Upskill engineers on coding standards, design patterns, and best-practice automation.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, feedback loops, and career-pathing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Product, DevOps, and Engineering leads to integrate quality gates into every stage of SDLC.
- Represent QA in release go/no-go decisions and post-mortems.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12+ Years of automation QA experience with at least 5 + years in automation leadership.
- Proven expertise in e-commerce, warehousing, or logistics domains.
- Deep understanding of STLC, SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
- Hands-on proficiency in Java / JavaScript / Python for test automation, plus frameworks such as Selenium/WebDriver, Testim, or Cypress.
- Strong experience in API automation (REST, GraphQL), database validation (SQL, NoSQL), Security testing and performance testing.
- Fluent with defect-tracking and project-management tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills; comfortable working with global, distributed teams and across time zones.
- Exposure to AI/ML-based test-optimisation tools or self-healing frameworks
Nice-to-Have
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile coaching experience.
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Previous ownership of QA budgets, vendor selection, or tooling PoCs.
- ISTQB certification
