Requirements
Position Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Automation QA Lead to join our dynamic and growing team.
- In this hybrid role, you will work hands‑on with automation frameworks while also leading and mentoring a QA team of up to 4–5 Automation Engineers.
- You will be responsible for driving quality strategies, overseeing automation efforts, and ensuring best‑in‑class delivery across our enterprise applications.
- This role collaborates closely with development teams in India and North America, as well as business and customer stakeholders.
- The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in Playwright with Python. Experience with Selenium is a plus, but not mandatory.
Main Responsibilities:
Automation & Testing Responsibilities (Hands‑On)
- Perform end-to-end testing across FUT, SIT, and UAT phases.
- Build, enhance, and maintain robust automation suites using Playwright + Python.
- Lead validation testing and regression automation for critical business workflows.
- Validate EDI transactions, business-critical reports, and ensure data accuracy across integrated systems.
- Translate technical specifications into detailed test scenarios, test cases, and automation scripts.
- Drive continuous improvements in automation frameworks, QA processes, and tooling.
QA Lead & Team Management Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4–5 QA Automation Engineers, conducting regular check‑ins, code reviews, and skill‑building sessions.
- Define and enforce QA best practices, automation standards, and coding guidelines across the team.
- Oversee task allocation, workload balancing, and timely delivery across multiple parallel projects.
- Partner with engineering leads, product stakeholders, and project managers to shape quality roadmap, risk assessments, and release strategies.
- Provide leadership on test planning, test strategy, estimation, and quality metrics for all releases.
- Ensure the team maintains high standards of test coverage, automation stability, and defect prevention.
- Represent QA in cross‑functional discussions, release readiness reviews, and customer-facing updates.
Requirements:
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Automation Testing, including 3+ years in a Lead or Senior Engineer role.
- Strong, hands-on expertise in Playwright with Python (mandatory).
- Experience designing and maintaining Playwright-based automation frameworks for regression and E2E testing.
- Experience with Selenium is a bonus.
- Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL for backend and data validation.
- Strong understanding of EDI testing and report validation in enterprise environments.
- Solid experience working in Agile environments with tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across global teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality outcomes in a client-facing environment.
Month-to-Month Activities (Summary):
- Months 1–2: Plan and Manage Testing Cycles – Define test strategies, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Months 3–4: Review Test Cases & Reports – Ensure test quality, completeness, and alignment with requirements.
- Months 5–6: Track and Analyze Defects – Monitor defect trends and drive root cause analysis.
- Months 7–9: Coordinate with Dev & Product Teams – Align on release readiness and quality standards.
- Months 10–12: Mentor QA Team & Improve Processes – Support team growth and continuously optimize testing workflows.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Defect Detection Rate – Measures the number of defects found during testing vs. post-release.
- Test Coverage – Percentage of code or features covered by manual and automated tests.
- Defect Leakage Rate – Tracks bugs that escape to production, indicating test effectiveness.
- Test Execution Efficiency – Compares planned vs. executed test cases within the testing cycle.
- Team Productivity & Collaboration – Assesses the QA team’s output, communication, and adherence to timelines.
