About the Role:
Finova is hiring a QA Engineer to join our quality-focused team in Manchester. This is an opportunity to take ownership of quality across our cloud-native B2B workflow solutions, ensuring our complex mortgage and savings platforms deliver exceptional reliability for our clients. You'll work closely with Product, Development, and stakeholders to champion testing best practices and drive quality at every stage of delivery.
What will you be doing?
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, functionality, acceptance criteria, and test scope.
- Analyse requirements and design, execute, review, and maintain manual test plans, test cases, and documentation, with exposure to basic automation where applicable.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing for new features, enhancements, and existing functionality.
- Identify, log, prioritise, and track defects to closure using Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent tools, ensuring clear documentation.
- Validate UI/UX behaviour, perform basic API testing using Postman, and support release and deployment validation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, keep test activities updated, contribute to QA process improvements, and support knowledge sharing within the team.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of experience in software testing or a related technical role.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, test design techniques, QA processes, testing methodologies, and defect lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing, writing clear test cases, maintaining test documentation, and executing structured test cycles.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA, including severity and priority assessment.
- Basic exposure to test automation tools or scripting concepts (for example Selenium) and API testing tools such as Postman.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and comfort working in Agile teams.
