Summary of the Role:

The role of a QA Engineer in the EVA team is to perform test campaigns to ensure that new deliveries are correctly integrated into various market configurations and meet specific market requirements. The QA engineer should think and act like a travel or airline agent, creating test scenarios that replicate best practices in the travel industry.

The QA engineer should have the required technical and functional knowledge and experience in their discipline, as well as an understanding of the Amadeus business and its relation to their area. They work using existing procedures or guidelines and provide input to support and inform area decisions.

In this role you’ll:

  • Contribute to the implementation of the test strategy by defining test cases from customer requirements and ensuring traceability with specifications.
  • Write test plans (functional, non-functional, and non-regression) and ensure improvement of the non-regression test repository in the Change Request plan.
  • Design test cases and develop automated test scripts, preparing the test environment and data, and executing test cases.
  • Provide a recommendation for proceeding with the customer’s test campaign and oversee quality control for projects, products, or releases.
  • Address and resolve Problem Tracking Records (PTR) and provide information to developers to fix defects, checking PTR fixes and recommending for production load.
  • Participate in specification reviews to provide input on testing requirements.
  • Report and communicate on test activities to the line organization, software developers, and product definition analysts.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Education: University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Business (a plus).
  • Language: Good professional spoken and written English required.
  • Experience in the travel industry, such as working with a travel agency, tour operator, or airline is mandatory.
  • Strong appetite for a quality engineering role and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and team members, adapting communication to different audiences (product or development).
  • Basic understanding of the development life cycle and CI/CD tools.
  • Keen interest in learning new technologies; curiosity and openness are essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Interest in technical projects is a plus.
  • Nice to have: Experience with Postman/SoapUI API testing, API automation, cross-browser and device testing, and defect tracking systems.
  • Nice to have: Experience working with test management tools (e.g., Octane, ALM, or equivalent) for at least 2 years.
