This position is responsible for ensuring that quality systems and standards are adhered to at Callaway’s International Golf Ball manufacturing locations. This role will perform onsite quality system assessments, collect and perform data analysis and evaluate product quality and reliability.
The QA Engineer will also support and develop new inspection methods/technologies/equipment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct Process Capability Analysis & support Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Supervise the new product qualification process including performing PFMEA prior to mass production.
  • Create & update quality documents, including quality criteria, inspection procedures, measurement & testing procedures, sampling rules, packaging methods, defect codes definition, limit sample setting to guide inspections of finished products.
  • Maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools and usage.
  • Lead onsite customer complaint resolution through root cause analysis to ensure timely resolution to issues.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for key apparatus, identifying measurement errors and biases and work to correct and/or improve the system.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Excellent process identification, evaluation, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from management and other departments.
  • Ability to work independently and rapidly adapt and respond to priority changes based on business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to deal responsively with management and peers.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor, Chemical Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience. Golf ball/rubber processing manufacturing experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)

  • This job will require constant walking and occasionally lifting of baskets of Golf Balls, in excess of 25lbs.
  • Factory, exposure to noise, heat in some departments and cold conditions in others.
