Role Overview

The QA Engineer is a quality-focused individual with solid technical expertise in testing and validating trading platform solutions for our clients. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of Broadridge trading systems for high-touch and low-touch Agency trading desks through comprehensive testing strategies, within the context of client delivery projects. This position will lead to a deeper understanding of international financial markets and to an excellent knowledge of our product suite.

Within the Professional Services department, you will drive quality assurance across client platform implementations following the Agile methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project managers, client product specialists, implementation engineers, technical architects, and technical leads in squads to define and execute testing strategies, and report on quality metrics and testing progress to clients and internal stakeholders;
  • Work with our clients to analyse their requirements and issues from a business, functional, and technical perspective to design appropriate test plans and test cases;
  • Assist project managers in estimating and sizing QA effort within project timelines;
  • Design, develop, and execute functional, regression, integration, and performance test cases for trading platform configurations and customizations;
  • Identify, document, and track defects through their full lifecycle, collaborating with implementation engineers, client teams and customer support teams for timely resolution;
  • Build and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to support continuous testing practices across delivery pipelines;
  • Provide quality status reporting and sign-off recommendations to stakeholders ahead of go-live milestones and production deployments;
  • Liaise with our client’s product team, Engineering, and our Technical Account Managers to align on quality standards and coverage expectations;
  • Proactively improve testing processes to promote better quality and safer deployments;
  • Enhance your business and technical knowledge of international financial markets relating to principal and agency trading, equities and derivatives, FX, and fixed income asset classes; and develop your understanding of Broadridge products which serve these businesses;
  • Champion a test-driven methodology across the delivery team.

Your profile

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or equivalent;
  • Experience in the finance industry is a must have, such as in high-touch and low-touch agency trading systems, market connectivity, and/or asset classes such as equities, derivatives, structured products, FX, and fixed income;
  • 2-5 years of experience in QA, testing, or related roles;
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management;
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, pytest, or equivalent);
  • FIX and other exchange protocol knowledge is a must have;
  • Source control systems (Git);
  • Programming experience is a plus;
  • Experience in a client-facing technical support role or an implementation/delivery role;
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and oral English;
  • Autonomy, organization, and a strong sense of accountability;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
