We are looking for a QA Engineer with a strong focus on mobile testing to join our team. The SBC App Team within the Specialized Global Tech unit is responsible for building and supporting mobile applications that enhance the rider experience for e-bikes. The QA Engineer will ensure the overall quality and functionality of our mobile applications by implementing mobile testing strategies, leveraging both manual and automated frameworks.
Role Summary
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience testing mobile applications at scale, ideally within the cycling or connected device industry. They will demonstrate a deep understanding of QA best practices while knowing when to apply flexibility. They will possess strong technical skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mobile-specific issues. A passion for test automation is essential, with proven experience in successful implementations.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Review mobile app requirements and designs to assess testability.
- Author mobile-focused test plans and develop test scripts with technical documentation.
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for Android and iOS using Katalon and Appium.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and stress testing on mobile devices and emulators.
- Collaborate with developers, UX/UI, and product teams to resolve issues and improve mobile app quality.
- Identify, document, and manage mobile defects within our in-house bug tracking system.
- Ensure QA processes for mobile test environments are followed and maintain the integrity of those environments.
- Review ticket requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria to create and execute test cases within sprints.
- Manage UAT for mobile apps with business users, UX/UI, and development teams.
- Analyze test results and effectively communicate outcomes to the broader team.
What You'll Need to Win
- 5+ years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing.
- 3+ years’ experience in mobile application testing (iOS and Android).
- Hands-on experience with Katalon Studio or Appium for test automation.
- Strong knowledge of mobile QA processes, testing methodologies, and mobile testing tools.
- Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, and device/emulator-based testing.
- Understanding of REST APIs, native mobile applications, and connected hardware integrations.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills in mobile contexts.
- Experience with developing and documenting clear test plans and cases for mobile applications.
- Self-learner with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.
Bonus experience:
- Performance and security testing for mobile apps.
- Additional hands-on experience with other mobile automation frameworks (Espresso, XCTest, etc.).
