We are looking for a Senior AQA Engineer with deep expertise in mobile testing to join our team. The SBC App Team within the Specialized Global Tech unit is responsible for building and supporting mobile applications that enhance the rider experience for e-bikes. The Senior AQA Engineer will play a key role in shaping testing strategies, mentoring other AQA engineers, and driving quality across our mobile applications by leveraging manual and automated frameworks.
Role Summary
The ideal candidate will have significant experience testing mobile applications at scale, ideally within the cycling, IoT, or connected device industry. They will demonstrate mastery of AQA best practices while bringing flexibility and judgment to adapt processes as needed. They will not only identify and troubleshoot issues, but also design scalable test solutions, contribute to architectural discussions, and advocate for continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Own the design and implementation of comprehensive mobile test strategies, frameworks, and practices.
- Lead QA efforts across multiple mobile projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and consistent test coverage.
- Review mobile app requirements, architecture, and design to influence testability and product direction.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers, sharing best practices and fostering skill development.
- Design, develop, and execute advanced automated and manual test cases for Android and iOS using Katalon and Appium.
- Perform and lead functional, regression, integration, smoke, performance, and stress testing on devices and emulators.
- Collaborate with developers, UX/UI, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to elevate product quality and rider experience.
- Proactively identify gaps in test coverage and introduce improvements to QA processes and tooling.
- Manage UAT with business users and ensure high-quality feedback cycles.
- Provide clear and actionable reporting of test results, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
What You'll Need to Win
- 8+ years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing.
- 5+ years’ experience in mobile application testing (iOS and Android).
- Proven track record of leading automation QA initiatives for large-scale, consumer-facing mobile applications.
- Hands-on experience with Katalon Studio and Appium for advanced test automation.
- Expertise in mobile QA methodologies, testing tools, and test environment management.
- Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, device/emulator-based testing, and connected hardware (Bluetooth, sensors, OTA updates).
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, React-based mobile applications, and hardware/software integrations.
- Experience setting up and optimizing CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into release processes (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable test frameworks and reusable test assets.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of influencing product direction and technical decision-making.
- Experience with Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, and agile methodologies.
- Bonus experience:
- Leading mobile performance, scalability, and security testing initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with additional mobile automation frameworks (Espresso, XCTest, etc.).
