What is the opportunity?
In this role you will act as a Quality Assurance Analyst to develop and enhance the automation framework and develop and enhance the manual testing for our Product Development Team in Ottawa. As a Software QA Analyst, you will be part of the Product Team, focused on automation development providing cutting edge products for some of the world’s largest banks.
What will you do?
- Define a test strategy and provide technical guidance in driving quality in new feature development in partnership with the Business Stakeholders & Developers.
- Monitor all business and functional requirements and incorporate all testing requirements into relevant test plans.
- Coordinate with product development engineers to design all test plans and analyze all functional and non-functional requirements.
- Implement all test cases and evaluate all results.
- Prepare test data and design all functional tests in required framework and monitor all development cycles and implement scripts on same.
- Review all product changes and coordinate with developers to provide efficient feedback and partner with the development teams to implement all manual or automated test cases.
- Prepare schedule for all test activities.
- Administer and maintain all automation scripts:
- Authoring and maintaining automated build/test/regression suites which will be required prior to each release.
- Monitor all application concepts and identify all automation process and recommend an appropriate automation framework or enhancement to the framework and evaluate all scripts and recommend changes as per requirement.
- Monitor all automation processes and prepare status reports for all progress and document all automation processes.
- Advocate test priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning
- Ensure Smoke, Sanity, Regression and Functional Testing are on track.
What do you need to be successful?
- Must have good SQL Knowledge
- Proficient in Manual testing concepts
- Good Communication skills
- Analytical and logical mindset
- Interpersonal skills
- Out-of-the-box thinking
- Basic Automation skills is an added advantage
- BFSI domain Knowledge
- Exposure to Defect management tool like JIRA
- Good to have API testing knowledge
- Experience with one of the following Java EE Application Servers: JBoss / Wildfly and Websphere
