Basic Function
Quality Assurance Analyst III is a Senior QA role. The individual will to carry out all quality assurance processes, developing test plans and test cases from functional specifications and business requirements, executing test cases, tracking software defects and verifying the software fixes. This includes integration, system, regression and UAT. This role partners closely with business system analysts, software & data engineers and the stakeholders of the business. It is essential to ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of new and enhanced business capabilities that meet or exceed expectations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Work closely with business system analysts, software & data engineers, and product owner to write test plans, estimates and schedules to support project and product releases.

Developing test plans, test cases, and test strategy from business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.

Executing test cases that follow best practice standards (both manual and automation) producing documented results that determine the release readiness of products or features.

Facilitate problem solving and troubleshooting of quality issues. Champion effective defect management best practices.

Utilize templates, tools, metrics, and best practices to verify that products meet business and user requirements.

Adhere to Agile principles and philosophies (Scrum or Kanban, as applicable) in fulfillment of the role.

Collaborate across teams and across business areas in the spirit of an Agile mindset to support testing for releases.

Provide QA project leadership; Responsibilities include oversight of planning, analysis of business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design, data management, test scripting, test execution, defect management, reporting, coordination with external applications/teams, sign-off and certification.

Provide QA project leadership for onshore and offshore contractor testers.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications

Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required with 5-8 years of experience.
Experience
-
5-8 years’ experience testing client/server and Web-based applications.
-
5-8 years’ experience developing, executing, and documenting test plans and test scripts.
-
5-8 years’ experience providing time estimates and traceability for application testing.
-
5-8 years’ experience with agile software development methodologies and procedures.
-
5-8 years’ experience documenting and managing bugs and defects.
-
5-8 years’ SQL skills and experience with data, ETL and report validation.
-
5-8 years’ experience communicating with technical staff and business end users.
-
5-8 years’ effective planning, scheduling, coordinating medium to large projects, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects concurrently.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Experience training and mentoring others in quality assurance tasks and responsibilities.

Experience assisting user acceptance testing with the user community to verify it meets their needs preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Creativity and the foresight to identify potential problems within the application and its interface.

Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to non-public business, financial and technological information, plans or data.
