We are looking for a Purchase professional with strong technical knowledge to manage engineering procurement activities, including technical evaluation, OEM coordination, equipment standardization, and vendor development.
- Prepare and review Technical Specifications and RFQs as per engineering requirements.
- Conduct technical evaluation of equipment, materials, and vendor offers.
- Coordinate with OEMs and technical vendors for specifications and clarifications.
- Support equipment standardization, make finalization, and OEM selection.
- Evaluate and recommend suitable OEMs and approved makes.
- Drive Value Engineering initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and performance.
- Support Technology Scouting and identify new products/equipment in the market.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Operations, and other stakeholders for procurement requirements.
- Ensure technical compliance of purchased equipment and materials.
Experience in sourcing/procurement of:
- Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Tippers & Dumpers
- Slag Pot Handling Equipment & Grab Buckets
- Conveyors, Crushers & Screens
- DG Sets, Motors & Pumps
- Fabrication Items
- Electrical Components
- Heavy Machinery Spares & Industrial Consumables
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Technical Purchase / Engineering Procurement.
- Experience in RFQs, technical specifications, vendor evaluation, and OEM coordination.
- Good vendor management, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to understand and evaluate technical equipment specifications.
Skills Required
- B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
- 8 years of relevant experience in technical purchase, engineering procurement, or industrial procurement
- Experience preparing RFQs and technical specifications
- Experience conducting technical evaluations and vendor evaluations
- Experience coordinating with OEMs and technical vendors
- Experience sourcing heavy machinery, industrial equipment, components, spares, or consumables
- Strong vendor management, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to understand and evaluate technical equipment specifications
