Are you a natural storyteller who can turn complex science into compelling soundbites? As Centrus Energy’s Public Affairs Manager, you’ll be the friendly face and trusted voice of our Oak Ridge operations—building bridges with the local press, government leaders, community groups, and our own employees. You’ll craft messages that resonate, manage our community outreach programs, and make sure we’re always seen as the good neighbor who just happens to work with world-class nuclear technology. What You Will Do:
You’ll lead community relations, coordinate corporate giving, and be our go-to media spokesperson in Oak Ridge. You’ll cultivate strong relationships with local leaders and press, manage outreach programs, write and distribute news releases, and ensure consistent, accurate messaging across Centrus HQ, the Department of Energy, and site contractors. You’ll also play a critical role in emergency communications, delivering timely and clear information to the public when it matters most.
We’d Love to Hear From People With:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or equivalent
- 5+ years in public relations, including public speaking, spokesperson, and writing/editing experience
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance.
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- Experience working in a highly regulated or rigorous environment
- Management experience in public relations
- Strong track record of media relations in a technical or industrial setting

This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
