Our client is a multinational chemical manufacturing firm, providing innovative industrial solutions and technical support across the industrial and commercial sectors.

 

Your role as a Protective Coating Specialist:

You will be responsible for managing customer engagement on product solutions, providing technical advisory and project support across industrial and infrastructure environments, and helping clients identify suitable surface protection solutions based on operational and environmental requirements.

 Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Provide technical guidance on coatings, surface protection systems and corrosion protection solutions to customers.
  • Assess customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions based on environmental conditions, substrate type, and project specifications.
  • Conduct coating inspections, site assessments, and technical evaluations where required.
  • Engage customers and advise them on surface preparation standards and application best practices.
  • Recommend appropriate protection systems for a variety of surfaces.
  • Ensure recommendations and practices align with relevant industry and coating application standards.
  • Support the commercial team with technical product knowledge and solution-based selling.
  • Assist in troubleshooting coating performance concerns and customer complaints.
  • Support sales growth of specialised and high-performance coating products and convert technical consultations into commercial opportunities.
  • Guide customers toward enhanced solution offerings that improve long-term asset protection and performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and industry partners to secure repeat project engagement and high-volume purchases.
  • Contribute to achieving sales targets, particularly for technical products.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend complete coating systems.
  • Assist in handling customer complaints and product performance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical consultations and site visits.
  • Provide training and technical support to internal teams and customers when required.


Requirements

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • Professional NACE or equivalent coating inspection certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation methods, protective coating systems, and environmental factors affecting coatings.
  • Ability to combine technical expertise with sales awareness.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suites (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Skills Required
