Overview 

We are seeking a Prospect Research Analyst who will be responsible for assisting in the identification, profiling, and qualification of potential donors to support fundraising campaigns. This role involves conducting research to enhance Compassion’s donor engagement and fundraising strategies. 

What will you do? 

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer. 

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur. 

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors 

  • Assist in identifying and profiling potential donors by conducting in-depth research using various online databases, publicly available information, and prospect research tools. 

  • Assist in creating comprehensive donor profiles and donor bios, including financial information, philanthropic history, personal interests, and connection to the Compassion’s mission. 

  • Support the assessment of donors’ gift capacity by evaluating wealth indicators and previous giving history. 

  • Maintain donor records in the database, ensuring accuracy and consistency of donor information. 

  • Collaborate closely with the development team to align research efforts with fundraising goals and priorities. 

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, attend relevant training sessions, and continuously enhance prospect research skills. 

  • Assist with special projects or additional research duties as assigned. 

What will you bring? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, fundraising, etc.). 

  • Strong research and analytical skills. 

  • Detail-Oriented with the ability to maintain data accuracy. 

  • Proficiency in using prospect research and business intelligence tools (e.g., Salesforce, Wealth Engine, Snowflake, Tableau) 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. 

  • Knowledge of donor cultivation and fundraising principles 

  • Previous experience in prospect research or fundraising is preferred but not required. Internships or coursework related to non-profit development or prospect research can be beneficial. 

Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above. 

Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule.
